Downton Abbey Portrait of a Downton lady

Elizabeth McGovern is a very gracious lady. We all know this, of course, because, in Downton Abbey -- the TV costume drama that became such a sensation last year -- she plays the Countess of Grantham, wife, mother and chatelaine of a magnificent stately home, the eponymous abbey. In real life, the abbey is actually Highclere Castle near Newbury and Hugh Bonneville isn't Robert Crawley, the genial, loyal, rather wonderful Earl of Grantham, and Elizabeth McGovern isn't his American wife, Cora.
