The network picked up the rest of its rookie scripted dramas, The Secret Circle and Hart of Dixie. The CW has permanently collared Ringer. The network has picked up the dual-identity thriller starring former Buffy the Vampire Slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar for a full season. The drama, which launched a week before the Big Four networks kicked off their fall seasons, opened to 2.8 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic – the CW’s largest audience in its Tuesday at 9 p.m. slot in three years. The series, with 90210's opener, also was the net’s most-watched Tuesday in two years. Its most recent effort drew 1.7 million and a 0.7. Co-starring Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd and Kristoffer Polaha, the series performed broader for the network than its predecessor, Life Unexpected. Ringer was the buzz of the summer as the series marked the long-awaited return to television for Gellar, who had been focusing on features in the years since cult favorite Buffy ended its run.
